The idea of Obama as "Santa Claus" has run rampant throughout the holiday season and I wanted to make a painting to document that. With Democrats already being branded as givers of "handouts" to people in need, labeled dreaded "socialist redistributors" who take money from hard-working, good Americans and give it to "lazy dirtbags," this misguided and unfair criticism is made even more popular by the recent bail-outs of U.S, banks. While TARP was one of the last pieces of legislation put forth by the Bush administration, there will surely have to be more billions of dollars given to the incompetent, unscrupulous and greed-driven corporate cats who ran their companies into the ground and risked taking America down with them. These future bail-outs will fall on the shoulders of Obama who will have the misfortune of having to ask the American people and congress to approve more and more rescue funds for people that many despise more by the day and with each passing news cycle.

I also find it hilarious all the ads I'm seeing on the Internet which show Obama's big smiling face as he holds a big check for people in his hands. Most of these are "get rich quick" scams that claim to tell you how to make thousands of dollars from government grants. I personally don't expect Obama to give me anything more than what he and the movement inspired by him already has, which is hope that we can all get through this economic collapse and that the Fat Cats who seek to destroy the U.S. can sink deeper and deeper in a pit of rotting guacamole that is almost as green as all than all that money they've stolen from average Americans.
